Known more commonly as Pheasants Tail Grass, Stipa arundinacea is a colourful grassy shrub that provides year long colour, forming a fountain-like structure comprising slender evergreen foliage. The leaves initially present as green, but soon develop additional colours like red and yellow, as well as variegated streaks and spots. During the colder months, the colours darken, providing attractive foliage throughout the year and can also grow sprays of airy flower heads during late summer.
A hardy plant, this variety can thrive in any type of soil and can be placed in either sunny or shaded areas of your garden.
