Tummelberry

Tummelberry is a heavy cropping raspberry and blackberry hybrid that provides a generous harvest of fruit from mid-summer. It has a bushy growing habit and doesn’t take long to establish.

The berries themselves are similar to raspberries in appearance. They are bright glossy red, turning purple as they over-ripen. The berries are sweet and juicy, with an intense flavour and are ideal for smoothies, desserts, jams, and cake decorating.

Getting its name from the river in Perthshire, Tummelberry is an easy fruit plant to grow and care for. It is exceptionally hardy and grows well with a trellis or wire support. Plant Tummelberry shrubs in full sun for the best yields and ensure the soil is moist but drains well. Tummelberry thrives in neutral to acidic, loamy or sandy soil types. In autumn, cut back old canes and secure new stems onto the supports.

Please Note: When purchasing plants, please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. The plant will be supplied in a growers pot. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves.
